To the Macey family:

David was a client of mine for most of the 1990s when I was a securities analyst on Wall Street. He was a wonderful man and I am deeply saddened by his passing. He was always extremely kind to me and took a genuine interest everything I had to say. We had many happy times together in Bermuda at investment conferences, and used to joke about starting our own reinsurance company.

I have a picture of David in my office of the two of us overlooking the ocean from the Southampton Princess hotel. I will miss David -- he was a great man.

My sincerest condolences to the Macey family. I worked with Dave @ TBC IRT in the mid-to-late 1970s and I kept in touch over the years usually in "Pie Alley" entering/leaving OBP. A gentleman, scholar and the William F Buckley of The Boston Company as I'd affectionately call him. Great command of the king's English and possessing a photographic mind. Boy did he love the investment business! I only learned the sad news yesterday in the Alley from a mutual friend. Dave was a legendary analyst - banks and almost anything else - well respected and contributed mightily to the profession. I was proud to call him friend. Rest in peace David. tcs
