Was very sad to hear of John's passing. He never let me forget that he had to cover for my father the day I was born. Then I was lucky enough to work with him for 13 years. My heart goes out to Anne, John, Michelle, and John.

Both Marines, John Sr. and my dad bonded instantly on inspections. When I started working for my Dad in the late 80s, he'd send me off to follow John and learn from him and John was an excellent and willing teacher. In the 20 or so years we worked together, I never saw a crawl space he wouldn't slither into. Seeing him pull up to an inspection was always a comfort that nothing would be missed. He shot from the hip, never bending the facts to please anyone, but always delivering it straight down the middle. John loved a good joke, a good story, and talking about his family. I'm proud to have known him and grateful for all of his help. The world needs more men like him.

Requiescat en pace,

Jimmy
