I just heard the sad news today that Larry passed away. I'm so sorry.

My deepest sympathies to Larry's friends and family everywhere and to all staff and clients at NCP. Larry Schneider was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known, personally. His bright, logical mind, coupled with careful attention to detail, a feeling for those suffering and in need of help as well as a very reasonable, practical outlook and style of administration made L.S. successful in many areas of life. These qualities also made him a real leader and as regards his vital role in founding North Cottage Inc, a visionary and life-saver. Larry's personal energy and diligence in realizing his vision and his wisdom in hiring many smart, patient and empathetic people to help him along the way, made North Cottage the very best place in Mass for those seeking recovery from addiction within a community that cares. His hands-on leadership approach and high standards for the cottage and its clients ensured the place was not just buildings, meetings and beds but really a sober safe-haven and home. Larry Schneider's fulfilled vision effectively saved many thousands of lives from certain death or a kind of living misery. For his great part in this, L.S. really was a very special, important man, especially to those whom the Cottage has helped, their families and the wider recovery community. He should be so remembered and so honored. Thank you, Larry. Thank you for some great conversations and laughs, too. Your sharp and ironic wit will be missed as well and I feel happy to have been witness to your very human side as well. You were one of a kind. Good trip, Mr. Schneider and may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
