CiCi and family,
i am sincerely sorry to hear of Capt.'s passing. I loved your Dad very much and was honored to have been a part of his life here at Waltham Crossings. Please know you are all in my thoughts and thank you for sharing such a decorated, talented, compassionate , gentleman.
Fondly,
Clare Welch

Our heartfelt condolences to CiCi and the entire Wigley family. I was blessed to have Larry as my first Commanding Officer aboard my first nuclear submarine, USS Tullibee (SSN 597). He was an extraordinarily strong leader who consistently demanded as much from himself as he did from those that worked for him. His strong technical expertise and unfailing dedication to teaching his young officers the twin professions of naval nuclear power and submarining started me on a career thoroughly enjoyed. I doubt that i would have enjoyed whatever successes i achieved without the strong start that Larry provided me and many other young officers. He was well respected by his crew as evidenced by the exceptional reception that he received at the 2009 USS TULLIBEE reunion. Thank you Larry. You will be missed.

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), we offer our sincere condolences to Sharon, Cynthia, and Wayne and all of CAPT Wigley's family and friends as you grieve his passing. May God whisper peace into your hearts and comfort and heal them. We are grateful for Larry's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the cold war years. During his distinguished Navy career CAPT Wigley served aboard the submarines USS Stickleback SS-415, USS Bream SS-243, USS Skipjack SSN-585, USS James Monroe SSBN-622, USS Tullibee SSN-597 (CO) and the USS Holland AS-32 (CO). To our “Brother of the Dolphin” … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country." -- Rev. Ray Fritz, National Chaplain United States Submarine Veterans, USSVI.
