I was one of Dr. Eldridge's first patients in Hingham. He was also the pedi for the 28 foster children my mother fostered. I remember him as a kind soft spoken man who took time with every day, patient never rushing through an appointment. He later was the pedi for my children. Many years later I was at physical therapy at south shore hospital. I saw this man in the pool who looked familiar. As soon as I heard his voice I knew who he was. I spoke to him and he remembered me by name without being told.He was one special man who will be missed.

Dr. Eldredge cared for my brothers, sister and me throughout our childhoods with compassion and expertise. I remember him as a caring, incredibly kind man. On behalf of my family, condolences to yours.

Lizzie & family,
I was sorry to hear of your dad's recent passing. He was a wonderful human being- full of kindness and compassion for everyone. I first met when he came to Foster School as the school doctor. The children loved his quiet comforting manner when he came for whatever the reason.
My wife and I attended his wonderful memorial service. Listening to all your memories of him while growing up in the Eldredge home were wonderful. He was quite a man and I was happy to hear that he and your mom are together for ever.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of myself and my family, I extend our deepest sympathies for your loss. I can still picture the office on Leavitt St. with Vera manning the desk. Dr. Eldredge was the kindest and most compassionate man. I would run into him as an adult and he would ask about all my siblings, remembering each of their names. He certainly has his place in Hingham history and a special place in mine.
