Sister Maria taught me in my 4 years at MSJA class of 1960 that NO mountain is insurmountable. Thank you and may God bless

My first encounter with Sister Maria was on our Quebec trip from the Mount in February, 1975: saving all year to raise $99.00 for a 9 hour bus ride- 5 days visiting 7 churches and McGill University while staying at the Hotel Frontenac! When I reflect on it- she was probably my age now, chaperone on a bus filled with 15 and 16 year olds! She was quick to point out the French and the artistic touches to everything including the architecture.
Sister Maria challenged us to seek out the French Connections when we returned to Boston. We kept a notebook filled with Polaroids and she was always thrilled to look at our discoveries- even though we were not in her class- we were her students! She was such great fun-our group returned as Juniors the following year and made a sojourn later in our 20s. We were blessed to have her in our life!

Sister Maria was one of my favorite teachers at Mt. St. Joseph Academy. I remember her as an algebra teacher in my freshman year. She made it easy for me. As a junior, she was my French teacher, and she again was wonderful. When I went back years later as a teacher myself, she was again a favorite colleague of mine, and became a friend. I'm glad that I knew this special woman.
