Not sure what to say?

I had Sister Candida as a homeroom teacher at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in 1961. She has always remained in my mind and heart as the most caring and approachable teacher. I remember carrying, on the MTA, a rather heavy Smith Corona typewriter from Chelsea to Brighton to have Sister see if she thought it was my typewriter not my skill that was holding me back from getting a good grade. The latter proved to be true. God kept Sister's memory alive for me in the last fifty eight years and now forever. May she rest in the love and peace of God in eternity.

I'm sorry to hear of Sr. Candida's passing, as she was an influential part of my academic life. She introduced me to the world of Chemistry at Matignon High School in North Cambridge around 1955-56. Her careful teaching and encouragement provided inspiration for a major in Chemistry at Emmanuel College and a lifelong career in the field. Thank you, Sr. Candida...! Rest in peace - you were well-loved and appreciated.

As a student at MSJA, I remember Sister Candida so well. She certainly was an inspiration and I always looked forward to her thought/quote of the day. She was an angel on earth who spread the Word of God in a very special and beautiful way. Sister Candida will always have a very special place in my heart. May she now enjoy the Beatific Vision, her Eternal reward.

Sr. Marie was a great lady of faith and service, an inspiration not only to all who minister or who aspire to ministry but to all who seek to give authentic witness to Christ. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Sister Marie was my senior year homeroom teacher at Matignon High School. In later years, she was my spiritual counselor. Always, she has been my inspiration, my mentor and beloved friend. I feel privileged and grateful to have known her.

I knew Sr. Candida as a wonderful chemistry and theology teacher at Arlington Catholic. Later, I had the privilege of knowing her as Sr. Marie Doyle a devoted pastoral assistant at St. Eulalia's in Winchester. She was an intelligent, compassionate woman who truly walked in the spirit of the Lord. The world was a better place for having her here and her contributions are beyond measure. This is a wonderful legacy.

What a wonderful teacher! She was my favorite teacher at Mt. St. Joseph Academy (1959-1963). We recently had our 50th Reunion at MSJA and a number of us went last month to Bethany to visit our former teachers there. Fifty years later, EVERYONE told her how fondly they remembered her and her "thought for the day," with which she began each and every class. She taught German and chemistry, and on the basis of her 3 years of teaching me German, I passed one of my two required language tests for my Ph.D. Now THAT'S good teaching!
She was loving and dedicated and so inspiring. What a remarkable life; what a blessing to have had her influence in my life.
