Anne-Marie and Paul:

When your parents were dating and seriously considering marriage, I became, in some ways, their guinea pig to see if they would enjoy having children after tying the knot. I was probably 10, 11, or 12. They took me to a Red Sox game, a movie and my most cherished and fun event with them -- the circus. Uncle Bill bought me a solid "gold" ring worn by the largest man in the world (not fake news; he was huge). I could fit four fingers inside the ring. I held onto that ring for 15 years -- hid it in a secret box with my childhood collection of baseball cards. When the came time to propose marriage to Stephanie, I unearthed the ring and presented to her as an engagement ring (as a young newspaper reporter, I could not afford the cost of diamond ring). The ring had a great deal of sentimental value. At Corina's recent wedding. I recalled this story for your Mom. Her laughter was followed by a few tears of joy and a big hug. That hug is now one of my cherished memories of Aunt Maureen. -- Greg Byrnes

Ann Marie and Paul,
The Griffins will always treasure the happy moments we shared with your family growing up. Your Mom and Dad were the happiest and sweetest people we knew. May you be blessed with many wonderful memories.

With prayers and deepest sympathy,
