Erin and Bill, my sincere condolences. You were both so good and caring to your wonderful mother, you made her later years so much better. She knew she was loved and cherished. Please find comfort in knowing that you cared for her with unconditional love.

Sincerely, Kathleen Bell

I have many special memories growing up on Royal Street and spending time at the Hughes' home. Coming from a house full of boys, it felt like a second home where I could escape from my brothers, play more girly things, plus enjoy other cool stuff like watching Dark Shadows on a color TV. The screened-in porch was a great sleep over place while the boys slept in tents outside my house. I always felt welcome as did my siblings who were close in age to Erin and Sandra. Mrs. Hughes was also my Brownie leader and more importantly, she took me to the Birds and the Bees movie with Shirl and then to buy supplies after the movie!
I will miss Mrs. Hughes' knowing look and her laughter most. I will also miss the sense of community she helped build in our neighborhood.
Sweet memories and blessings to all,
Lauren
