I was deeply saddened some five months since Paul's passing to hear about it just today. It is difficult to say in mere words what a positive impact Paul had on my life, and that of my late brother Brendon. There was of course the "Ma Bell" connection where we all were employed at one time, but even more so in out post telephone company experiences. I did not meet Paul personally until after he had left New England Telephone to found his own consulting service and American Communications Systems. I was still working in sales for New England Tel when we first met, or maybe more accurately say that our paths crossed. Paul was an incredible customers advocate. It was in that context that I came to know and respect Paul's superior knowledge and telecommunications expertise. It was following my leaving NET that I really got to know Paul, in fact I had the great pleasure of working for Paul at ACS as an independent contractor. It was during that period of time that we really became friends. We shared childhood experiences in Dorchester and also discovered that we were born ten days apart in 1931. I loved kidding him about his being "so much older than I." Dearest Mary, I love you and pray that life will be kind to you during these very difficult months. You shall always be in my prayers. And for all the children, my heart aches for you. There will always be a large vacuum where Dad used to be. God bless you all. Rest in peace dear friend, I know that your are truly in the Hands of God.
