SEWARD, Patricia Joan 72, formerly of Cambridge and Nantucket, passed away Thursday, March 27th in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, after a brief illness. She is survived by her brother Jackie Seward, beloved children, Stephen Seward of Nantucket, Thomas Cunningham of Cambridge, Stephanie Cunningham of San Francisco, Kathryn Haigh of Portland Maine, Fletcher Haigh of Nantucket, Patricia Haigh of Plymouth and eleven grandchildren. Born in Salem to the late Alice Bentley Seward and Joseph Seward, Pat was a familiar figure in Cambridge and Boston for many years, having regularly volunteered in programs for the homeless. In her earlier years, she was an art model and remained a passionate follower of the fine arts throughout her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11AM at Saint Mary of the Annunciation, 134 Norfolk St., Cambridge. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date on Nantucket. Donations in her memory may be made to Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118. I was sad to hear of Pat's passing. She had a hard life, and tried hard to overcome. She will be missed.
