So saddened to hear of Rich's passing. I met Rich through swimming. We use to have co-ed sectionals and states at Medford HS back in the late 80's to mid 90's. It was always good to sit and chat with Rich and catch up with each other at these meets.
Rest In Peace Rich and thanks for the memories.

Rich and my swim coach, Paul Mangili, had a very close relationship. Rich and his swimmers would often travel with our team to meets all over the country. Later, I began my own coaching career and was lucky to be on a coaching staff with Rich. He was a kind man. He always listened and cared about you as a person. He was a genuine man and one that I respected very much. I am confident that he and Paul are up there having another laugh and talking about their times spent together. Thank you, Rich.

I have many special memories of growing up with Rich. Trudging through Playstead Park to skate on Brooks Pond or sled on the hills, biking to Winchester for some ice cream, late night card games with the gang, walking the mile to school in the morning and then home after swim practice. He always had a ready smile and a helping hand. Even then it was obvious how much he loved life! My heartfelt condolences to all of Rich's loved ones.

Rich was a good man and amazing fiancé to my best friend, Heather. Even when pain and fatigue set in, he always pushed on and took new adventures. Rich was a force! I am so glad to have met him and forever grateful for how very happy he made Heather. My sincere condolences to H and the Cheney family.
