My first cognizant solid memory of Uncle Bobby (other then us little rugrat cousins running a-muck) was when we had a sleepover at their house on Courtney Drive. The younger ones had been watching TV with Uncle & Auntie while the older of us were running outside in the courtyard . When it came time to come in for the night he had the world globe out. I do not remember why. Maybe it was because someone had a geo assignment or wanted to know about a particular country. We watched Disney & nature stuff when we were kids. He was showing us where different places were located . We happened upon Korea (remember , this was the 50'S ) As he was teaching us something I blurted out ; ADD that I am ; Oh ! Those are the people we hate. He very gently corrected me. " No Paula , we do not hate them. Hate is a very strong word. We do not agree with them. We do not always get along with them. But we do not hate them . " That has stuck with me my whole life and no matter how messy life gets , I always hear that in the back of my mind .
