Miss my many friends who shopped at Dawson's. I worked there for 30 years.
Roland and I shared a love of dogs. He once spotted my little poodle running across the parking lot to do her business. Each time he would shop at Dawson's he would ask after my little "rat" with a big smile on his face.
He was very high among my very favorite customers. Miss his smile.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Rolly at the Y and often worked out next to him and he would talk about his running and Mount Washington races. As my family grew he would tell me of his and proudly brag about his children and grandchildren. My youngest, Abby, was born about the same time as Elle and we would share experiences and I imagined they might play one day. He always honked loudly at me when he passed me running on Cherry street to say hello. My job changed as well as my work hours so I sadly lost touch not being at the Y or running when I 'd see him. He took time for me and for everyone he encountered and made a difference in my day every time. He was wonderful and will be truely missed. I'm sorry I did not know until now. I just found out today. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Take care,
Sincerely,
Regina Baker

Dear Mrs Bonnette and family,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr Bonnette. Having lost my father in recent years, these are difficult times. I have fond memories as a youngster playing basketball with Beth and then Brenda. The Bonnettes seemed like they never missed a game. You just expected to see them in the stands. There were other times I would see Mr Bonnette coming into the gym after one of our practices: it was badminton night! He always greeted you with a twinkle in his eye. I was so impressed that he played badminton for I recognized it was a game of quickness, strategy and skill. Be at peace.
Sincerely,
Janet and the Bursaws

David and family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your Dad's passing.
I had the pleasure of having Mr. Bonnette as one of my very early Little League coaches. Bless him as he tried to teach baseball with an emphasis of having fun!
May God bless you all during this difficult time.

My name is Lydia, a former cashier at Dawson's True Value Hardware of Beverly,
Roland and I became friends on the day he spotted my little poodle, Cheri, run out the automatic doors and over to a grassy area to relieve herself. She then returned to the store to find me. That made an impression on Roland. Each time he visited Dawson's he would always ask after Cheri and then after Cheri passed, he would inquire after the little poodles, Jackie and Jill who are 6 years old now. Roland and I had a special connection as he loved animals as do I.
I no longer work at the register but during my 30 years of working at Dawson's I made friends of many of my customers but Roland was very special on my list, I looked forward to chatting with him while I rang up his purchase. He will always be special to me. I am so sorry for your loss.
