August 4,2005.. A day that will forever be burned in my mind. Theo the Lord called you home while you were defending our freedom and I will always be grateful for your sacrifice. Its been 10 years today and it feels like yesterday. Our son is now 16 and he looks and acts just like you. We find ourselves staring at him because he has your mannerisms and sense of humor. Our daughter is now 12, she doesn't remember too much but there are pictures of you all over our home. Those home videos that you weren't fond of, does us justice now and we will forever hear your voice and see you in your element..enjoying family..I so wish that she would've had the fortune of experiencing you as her father. She doesn't know what it's like to have a dad but we keep you alive for her. The days don't get easier, they get tolerable and I am still trying to manage the void in my heart.
My mom has now joined you behind those "pearly gates" and she was the one that comforted me when you went home. Your children are the strongest little people I know, they've persevered through these times and been through more than most adults could ever handle. They do it with such grace, humility and strength and I know that you would be so proud of them.
I just wanted to put these thoughts out there because the heart never really heals when it is broken and losing you broke my heart. I still smell your cologne, still have your clothes and still miss you with every passing day. I still love you with all of me and I am just so thankful and Blessed for the years we shared and the honor of still carrying your name. I love you forever and ever, Amen. You will forever be my Marine..Semper Fi

Always,

Your wife
