To the daughters and other family members of "Uli", I used to work with him at Factory Mutual Research Corp in Norwood, MA in the mid 1980s. His cubicle was across from mine. It was my first professional office job and I was in my early 20s at the time. Uli was like a father figure to me during that job and was such a delightful, positive person. One time, I needed to make a repair on my car, and he let me work on it in your driveway.

My career has taken many turns since the Factory Mutual years, and I currently work as a hospice nurse. I have thought about Uli from time to time over the years; We even share a plumber (whom Uli recommended to me back in 1987).

While documenting on one of my patients, I noted the year of birth, and I thought about Uli again and decided to "google" him and came across this page and my heart sank. When one changes jobs and careers, people you used to work with often get lost from your life. I regret losing touch with him. It's been several months since his passing, but I give my sincere condolences to you on the loss of a dear, sweet man.

Vizma and Zaiga, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I have fond memories of him and our time spent together on past holidays. I remember when I graduated from college and he offered me all of his mechanical engineering text books. I asked him "Uncle Uldis, won't you need these books for reference?" and he replied, "Mari, I have everything I need up here", as he pointed to his head and smiled. I don't doubt that one bit, Uncle Uldis. May you rest in peace.
