LANCE, William Campbell 72, of Sudbury, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at home after an illness. Born on September 2, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Donald Gerald and Lois Ann (Jamieson) Lance. Bill was raised in Michigan before moving to Massachusetts to attend Harvard in the 1960s. He worked as an attorney for Nixon & Peabody in Boston, formerly Peabody & Brown, for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 2007. Survived by his wife, Susan Marston Lance; three daughters, Katherine "Karey" Naley and her husband Martin of Winchester, Heather Lance and her husband Mauro of Belmont, Sarah Lance and her husband Dan Kleiman of Sudbury; their mother, Veronica Quarry of Winchester; two step children, Ryan and Lauren Burkley both of Sudbury; 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. A memorial service will be held at Harvard Memorial Church, Friday September 8, at 11 AM.
