I only just found this: I only knew Wm. H. Meanix Jr. through his son William H. Meanix, III. May light perpetual shine upon thee Sir. Bill, III, you have my hear felt sympathy and may God hold you in his arms while walk the same road as I have.

Sandi and I were deeply saddened to hear about Bill's passing! I served under him on the USS Lloyd Thomas (DD 764) as his Combat Information Center (CIC) Officer. He was an outstanding ship-handler who really worked to pass on those skills to his junior officers.

My wife, Sandi, really enjoyed the friendship with his wife, June. She joined June and a number of other wives in visiting the ship while assigned to Key West, Florida.

June: Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these very difficult of times!
