Wolfhart affected all of us with his articulate thoughts, with his honesty, his rigorous and surgical approach to detail, and with his care for his students—this latter being the most important and the most memorable for me. As a scholar he stands as a true giant in Semitic Philology and Classical Arabic—someone who is not going to be replaced ever again at Harvard. As a friend, he was dear and near to anyone who even said hello to him just once. I will miss you Ustad and I will never forget you; especially my Turoyo class where I had a chance to work with you alone. All of your students love and miss you and you will live forever in all of our hearts.
It is truly a sad moment in all the lives he touched so wonderfully. May he rest in peace and if there was ever a heaven it was made for great souls such as his.

I am so sorry to hear about Prof. Heinrichs's passing. He was on the committee of both my General Exams and my Ph.D. dissertation. Despite being a remarkably erudite scholar with an amazing breadth of knowledge, he was also a true gentleman, delivering advice in a kind, helpful, thoughtful manner. He will be missed.
