In 1987, as Mayor of Pembroke, Wales I had the great honour of meeting Jack and he gave me a special gift, a day of his life. That meant visiting his lovely home and delightful and charming wife Patricia, taking a cruise in his motor boat and dining with him in the evening. All in return for opening his new Office in Pembroke.
He was quite simply an extraordinary gentleman in every way and I will never forget him even though over a thousand sea miles separate me from him.
May I sincerely pass on to Patricia and his three children my sadness and condolences. A rare gentleman of character and personality has been lost to he world. Such a loss as such men are rare and thereby truly missed.
May God give strength to his family, friends and colleagues to bear their loss.
William. R. Baker. 608th Mayor of Pembroke, Wales 1987/88
