GROGAN Paul R. Grogan, 70 years of Whitman passed away June 26, 2013 peacefully at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Brenda (Locklear) Grogan. Born in Weymouth, son of the late Henry and Cecilia Grogan. Paul resided in North Weymouth for 24 years and graduated from Weymouth High School in the class of 1961. He was an Army Veteran and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. In his younger years Paul trained and raced harness horses at Foxboro, Rockingham Park and many other race tracks. Because of his love of horses, he returned to this in his retirement assisting friends. Paul and his family resided in Hanover for 25 years and he was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church before moving to Whitman and becoming a member of Holy Ghost Parish. Paul was a former franchise manager for Friendly’s and Brigham’s Restaurants and a District Sales Manager for John Hancock for many years. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Charlene Grogan (formerly Martinelli) of Plymouth and Rosemary and her husband Matthew J. MacCurtain of Middleboro. His three grandchildren; Priscilla Ann Martinelli, of Plymouth and Liam Paul and Kaleigh Rose MacCurtain of Middleboro. Also survived by three sisters: M. Janice Oliva and her husband Francis of Yarmouthport, Sandra J. Amber and husband Robert of West Bridgewater, Christine George and husband Robert of Rockland and three brothers: Ronald K. Grogan and wife Linda of Braintree, Stephen L. and his wife Mary of Braintree, Thomas E. Grogan and wife Debra of Rochester, MN. Paul was the brother of the late: A. Lucille Gately, Richard H. Grogan, Clare I. Maki and also brother-in-law Robert Maki of Gardner. Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., WHITMAN on Monday, July 1st 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 P.M. Funeral Mass Tuesday in Holy Ghost Church at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment at St. James Cemetery, Whitman. To all of the loved ones Paul Grogan left behind.....I pray for all of you I pray for your peace as well hoping you know Paul is at such a beautiful, majestic peaceful place himself in Heaven and the pain and suffering is over because Jesus has taken him home and is holding him in his arms.
