Blanche R. Higley
1936-2016 Blanche Rose Nadeau Higley, 79 of Maplewood Nursing Home, passed away peacefully, with familiy by her side, March 8, 2016 after a period of failing health. She was born on November 25, 1936 the daughter of Armedos and Antoinette Cote Nadeau, and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School class of 1954. She worked at Chromerics and Amp Inc. for many years. Herpassions were her family, cats, and growing beautiful flowers. After the murder of her son James in 1985, depression recovery allowed her to organize POMC in New Hampshire through the Attorney Generals office in Concord, N.H. Blanche remained president for several years until her health began to decline. This allowed her to help organize POMC out of Rutland, VT. Blanche met Carl (Duke) Hamilton, a Long Island native, through a close friend Kathy Trelewitz Dader, Carl's sister. They helpled each other through the loss of his wife from cancer and the loss of her two sons: James to murder, and Meridan to suicide. They remained partners for over 30 years until his death in February of this year. She is survived by a son, Jacque of West Chesterfield, NH and siblilngs: Arthur Nadeau, Dennis Nadeau and his wife Diane all of Hinsdale, NH. Also many nieces and nephews, friends, and the Nadeau clan. She was predeceased by her parents, sons James and Meridan, sister Julia A. Page, infant nephew Michael Page, infant great nephew Nathan Cornell. There will be a graveside service in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plain Rd. Hinsdale, NH later in the spring, at a time to be announced. Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave. Northfield, Ma. is in charge of arrangements.
