Dear Blazej Family,

I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of Sigrid.
I have a vivid memory, visiting the Blazej household as a teen in the 80's; the house smelled of fresh baked Apple Pie, and Sigrid was busily knitting.

Sigrid kept a bright and cheery home for her family. She will surely be missed.

I am among the many fortunate people in the valley to have worked an event with Sigrid and to have experienced her humor, her generosity and her amazing baked goods. She was an amazing woman who will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

To Sigrid Family,
I worked with her on many events for the Fire Department Auxiliary and she was always the first to help no matter the weather. She was a wonderful lady. May she be at peace and her family find comfort in your memories. Bless You All.

It was a delight to know Sigrid, who I met last summer when I assumed some of her duties managing the plant booth at Grace Cottage Fair. I met her at her home to discuss the details of the plant booth. She was baking cupcakes for another event and had a meeting to attend later that morning so we got right down to business. She had her well-worn book of names and phone numbers, knew in explicit detail who the good volunteers were, who contributed plants, and just how we were going to divide responsibilities. I was duly impressed, smiling inside, quietly hoping I would be as sharp and full of energy at her age. She looked at me intently, curiously, as she proudly shared a bit of background about her family and her involvement in the community. She kept me on track with her weekly calls prior to Fair Day to inquire how many calls I had made to solicit plants and volunteers. And on Fair Day, she was there all day overseeing the activity of the plant booth which was her responsibility for so many years. She was a lovely woman and I shall miss her come time to organize the plant booth at the Fair. My condolences to her family.
