My dear Sara, on behalf of the entire membership of the 307th Bombardment Group Veterans Association, we wish to offer our most sincere condolences on Boris's passing. As you may well assume, there are not many veterans left from the 307th BG, yet our association continues to grow as a family. Our last reunion was in Santa Fe, where only seven remaining members who were able to travel attended. People drove in from five surrounding states just to stop by and shake their hands.

Boris was a member of a very special group of fliers called the Long Rangers. He was a true hero, as many of the 307th were. Just two days ago we lost one of the last seven in our group. We were once over 400.

Today, we are the children. Nearly all of our members are family members of the brave and heroic boys who engaged the Japanese in the Pacific and prevented them from ever coming near our shores.

I wish to thank Boris posthumously for his courageous and extraordinary service to our country.

We also invite your sons and daughters, and especially your grandchildren to become part of the 307th BG Association. I can only promise that they will learn so much more about Boris's military career, including photos, mission reports, and a few men from his bomb squadron.

I have placed a memorial Obituary in Boris's honor on our "Final Flight" page on our website. I hope your family will have an opportunity to visit.

You and Boris are in our prayers.

Don Calarco

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Mr. Hidalgo and my dad, Claude Williams, were friends. I remember Mr. Hidalgo as a very happy, kind man. God bless and give you comfort and peace.

One's life does not end at death but continues through the memories of those who knew you. Boris' life touched many and his legacy will be the memories we have of him.

Boris and your brother and sisters,I am very sorry and saddened to hear of the passing of your father. It is the passing of one generation to the next.
