Charles H. Russell Jr., born on Dec. 17, 1955, passed away peacefully at Valley Baptist Medical Center, on Dec. 13, 2012, with his family at his side.
Charles proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1980 thru 1988. Loving son, brother, father and grandfather, will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Patsy in 1961, his brother, Richard L. Russell in 1999 and by his father, Charles H. Russell in 2007.
He is survived by his mother, Angelita L. Russell; his children, Claudia (Jamie) Foster of Knoxville, Tenn., Carlos, Jessie (Esmeralda) Russell of Brownsville, and Angie Russell of Austin, Texas; his brother, Jesse Russell of Brownsville; his sisters, Irene Russell of Brownsville, Cecilia R. Bella (Mark S. Nieto) and Lorraine R. (George) Alvarez of Los Fresnos; grandchildren, Aaron and Marley Foster, Luis Eduardo, Erik and Carlos Russell, Jacob Ivan and Jessie-Nicole Russell, and Donovan Landaverde; his caregiver and her children who unselfishly took care of him for the last ten years; Carolina Cepeda, Juan, Carolina and Marylou Corona, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2355 E. Tyler St.
Visitation will be continue on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, from 9 a.m. at Holy Family with a Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Military honors will be provided.
Serving as pallbearers will be, George L. Alvarez, Mark S. Nieto, Rene Lopez, Gus Lopez, Joe Lopez and Gilberto Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jessie Russell, Richard Russell Jr., Jacob Ivan Russell, Nick Bella, Carlos A. Alvarez and Javier D. Alvarez.

I just found out about Charles passing away and I would like to extend my condolences to the Russell family. I went to school with Charles and Richard and I am deeply saddened by this news. I pray the Lord gives you strength to endure this saddness.

Mrs. Russell. I just recently heard of Charles' passing. My sincere condolences. I remember him especially in early grade school. We were partners in dancing " La Raspa." may Charles rest in peace and may God give you strength in your days ahead. My deepest sympathy.
