Walter George "Walt" Hill, 80, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Hill was born May 9, 1932, in New York City, N.Y., to the late John and Sylvia Waters Hill. Prior to its closing, he was the manager of the Ocean Isle Beach Golf Course.
He was a United States Army veteran and retired with the rank of E9-CSM. Mr. Hill was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Elks Lodge in Calabash. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Pierce.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy "Dotttie" Hill; two sons, Dave E. Hill, wife Helen, of Pittsboro, and Walter F. Hill of Shallotte; a daughter, Marie S. Hill of Ocean Isle Beach; and four grandchildren, Jason, Samantha, Michael and Stephanie.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Calabash VFW with military honors.
Inurnment will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the SECU Hospice House 955 Mercy Lane, SE Bolivia, NC 28422.
