We lost another great American hero and humanitarian. Without the great work of this man and others then no one in the US would have the right to enjoy the basic civil freedoms all of us in my generation and younger have taken for granted..education, employment, voting rights...etc. Even the basic human rights (for example the right to sit down and have lunch with your own best friend in a restaurant). Hard to imagine that. Thank you Rev Reynolds for fighting for those rights.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during the difficult time. Uncle Nimrod was a man of vision, courage, and most importantly, a man of God. He was one of God's soldiers who stepped out of faith and helped make our country a better place for ALL mankind. He's earned his rest.
Daniel 12:13 - As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.
May 14, 2013
For your service to humankind, Thank you. You were made in the image of God and did His work. Now, you celebrate with the Saints of Old. Hopefully you've had a reunion with all of the saints that changed the USA in the 1950s and 1960s.
Rest well, you deserve your Heavenly benefits.

Rev. Reynolds began his civil rights work a few years before I was born in Anniston, and I am thankful for the work he did. We are all created in the image of Almighty God, and for this reason should treat each other with dignity and respect. In this fallen world this will never be fully achieved, but blessed are the ones God sends to stand up for those who are oppressed, as Rev. Reynolds did so diligently. We are better for his having lived among us. My condolences to Rev. Reynolds' family and friends.
May 14, 2013

May 13, 2013
My best friend and colleague is gone -- and after a conversation a few days ago --last week, in fact. We were brave and bold enough to challenge Anniston's segregation and to lay on Rev. Philip Noble's heart the need for change. We were hopeful and bold enough to attempt to integrate that public library that Sunday afternoon in September, 1963--beaten by KKK and group of white hoodlums. But we did not lose faith.
I regret that he did not live to see the Plaque that will be placed there in September after 50 years. But I will be there where his name and my name will go into the annals of Alabama History and ther history of Anniston and its civil rights struggle. REST IN PEACE, ROD! WE WILL NEVER EVER FORGET YOU! YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!!! i LOVED YOU LIKE A BROTHER --- AND I KNOW IT WAS MUTUAL. we said it to each other often and shared our mutual resources. I know Tammye and Andre' know how long we have been friends -- beginning when they were mere infants and small children in the parsonage on 17th Street and Cooper and their Mother was alive and teaching school and I pastored Haven Chapel Methodist Church, then at 15th and Brown. NO, I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!
May 13, 2013
Thank you for your hard work! Now..take your rest.
May 13, 2013
