I know so many have said the same thing regarding your influence. For me there was only one influence in my life; The late great Ray Manzarek. A man I never formally met but was influenced to play a keyboard every day for an hour and one half each day until I was able to duplicate his sound. How can you thank someone enough for the greatest gift of them all; the ability to play music.

In 1968 I saw the band that changed my view of music for ever. The Roundhouse in London is still indelibly etched in my mind, and much though I have grown to love Jim's words, both his poetry and lyrics, it was the keyboard player who blew me away. Ray opened the door to a range of music that for an English kid growing up in the maelstrom that was the 60's would have otherwise have passed me by.

A great night just about ten years ago when we took our 3 grown up kids to see the 21 Century Doors and Ray did his magic again for another generation. Their jaws just dropped during the solo on 'Riders'. The legacy is huge. Deeply saddened to hear of his passing, and my condolences to his family.

He was a legend.my first song of the Doors was Do you love her madly.I have heard the song on the radio. And thenI went to the House of Guitars and bought CDS of their albums and their music was good.I think that Ray Manzareks organ should be in a rock and roll fame museam.Because it was a invention that made him famous and his talent would never be forgotten.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Ray Manzarek recently. The Doors were one of the great American bands, and Ray's playing was integral to their greatness. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago; I would like to offer my condolences to his family.
