Pembroke
Vivian Gay Shuman, 89, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Ogeechee Area Hospice after an extended illness.
Mrs. Shuman was a homemaker and longtime member of Pembroke Christian Church. She worked as a volunteer with her church and many other organization, including the North Bryan Food Bank. Mrs. Shuman was an avid gardener and loved taking care of her flowers and yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, B.W. Shuman.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Cheryl Shuman of Brunswick; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tony Browning of Titusville; brother and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Patsy Gay of Brunswick and Caroline Gay of Statesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Waters of Pembroke; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Northside Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Sullivan officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pembroke Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 479, Pembroke, GA 31321. Arrangements are by Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke.
