I am so sorry to his family and friends for your loss. Mr. Carl was my favorite high school teacher and he will be missed! He wrote in my yearbook.."to a most painful thorn in my side" I laughed hard when I read it but knew he was right and he gave me that look with his eyebrows raised. He was a great man..I am so very sorry. Sincerely, Lori A.(Massinger)Best

My deepest sympathy to Kimberly, Jon and Aunt Ginny over the loss of your Dad. Uncle Don was a great guy, and over the years I have met many students of his who always remembered him fondly. To me he was just "Uncle Don" and my Godfather. May you both find comfort from family and friends during this difficult time. God Bless, Love Linda and John Milazzo

The isn't enough words to describe this man. He was one of the greatest teachers I'd ever have, with the sternest look, but the best laugh.I was truly blessed to have him as a teacher.
May you be at peace.

Don was at first my teacher. One always has a teacher in their life that makes an impact, Don was just that guy. As time went by we became good friends. He was a warm, caring, campassionate man. Always time for a talk and a hug. I will miss him greatly. Class of '72

One of my favorite teachers. I learned more than just History in his presence. He always found a way to make me laugh. Thank you for all you did, Mr. Carl. Love to you and your family always!

Mr. Carl was one of my favorite teachers. He taught me history, he made me laugh, and most importantly he made me think. He always had a story to tell, and a well timed question or two would send him off on a story telling tangent for the rest of class. But I learned more from his stories than I ever could have from the history book.
Kim, my thoughts are with you and your family. Your father will be missed.

Mr. Carl was my senior year history teacher. I think that was the first year that I actually found history/government interesting. He was a great guy, a great teacher, & it is a great loss that he is gone. He was a powerful presence, & he treated his students like their thoughts were important...gave respect & expected it in return. He could be a yeller; but only if you deserved it. He had a great sense of humor... So sorry to his children for their loss.-Evelyn Post-Dunn, Class of 1994
