Dear family of Dr Alex. I am Michael Mevissen and he helped me in business, I helped him with his cars we went on a cruise together on the MS Windward when my sister even got us to be able to drive the ship. Alex was thrilled. I was also with him when we went to Watkins Glenn to race the XK120 or was it the 140 (green). If you see a red e-type model that says "for all you do this Jag's for you" I made that for him on his birthday many years ago. I will miss him greatly. My daughter and sister will also remember him with love I spoke with him late last year about his collection of which he was so proud.Good bye Alex you will be forever in my heart.
Dear Drapanas family:
Sorry for your loss. Alex was a wonderful, kind and fantastic person. We met as teenagers when Alex was surveying in Ripley, NY. Thank you Alex for the fond memories and the times we've shared reminiscing. The song "Shaboom" will always bring a smile to my face, and I'll think of you. God Bless. See you in Heaven....Connie Campbell, Orchard Park, NY

I am deeply sorry for your loss and mine. Annette Masling
I am filled with shock an sorrow over the loss of Dr. Drapanas. You have my very deepest condolences. When I walked into Alex's office over 25 years ago (more than half of my life), and I knew from my first contact with him, that I was in for a very unique and outstanding experience. Over the years that proved to be more true than I could have imagined. I was siginficantly impressed (and somewhat amused) by his geniune passion for teeth and gums. My experience with his compassion, competency, and zest for life always prompted interseting and meaniful conversations with him. Both of you have made me feel like a part of your family. You said that I have never had any real dental issues until the past three months, which has brought me into the office every other week since then. For that I am greatful.
Love and Peace,
I want you to know that my thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow. You know how highly I valued Alex's friendship, and his skills as a dentist. He was a unique individual, and I will miss him.
Alex has been a life long friend of the family and was always the life of the party. May God Bless...we will miss you uncle Alex!
So very sorry for your loss. Dr. Drapanas was my dentist because my father, Bernie Satkowski was a patient and friend of Alex. When dad first met Alex, he needed extensive care. Dad didn't want several weeks of appointments so he asked to have Alex do everything in one visit. Reluctantly, Alex said ok. So Dad got to the office early in the afternoon that day as he was Dr. Drapanas' only patient. Dr.worked on dad for 4 long exhausting hours. When everything was done, Dr. was understandably beat while Dad was relieved and asked, "Hey, doc, do you have any scotch around here?" He did! A fine bottle, too. The two of them drank together and shared life stories for about 2 hours evening. A friendship was born that would last for years until my father's passing 10 years ago. Dad had an automotive repair business so there were many hours spent by dad and his best mechanic, Kevin, working on all those Jags in Allentown. The three men even went to Watkins Glen one fall to race one of the cars. They were like 3 little kids in a candy store there I was told. There's no doubt that Bernie and Alex are once again enjoying some fine scotch together in heaven! God bless their souls. May God comfort the family and give you peace.

Mother has known Alex since he began to practice. My father, Dr C. Charles Bachmann, and his brother Ted were great friends. Alex has been a constant friend and a wonderful dentist through these many years. We will miss him very much and send our deepest condolences to Deb who was at his side in what was a shared professional and happy personal life.
I had the privilege of working for Alex for 14 years, he was my dear friend, mentor and teacher, still all these years later I use phrases he taught me in teaching patients. Alex was a credit to his profession and his community. Anyone I have worked for since has paled in comparison. My time spent in his office was filled with laughter. Alex, you once told me there would come a time when I would look back and remember you with a smile, my dear, dear friend, you are forever in my heart and yes, I am smiling.
Deb, I am so sorry to hear of your lose. I know the passion you both had for each other. I wish you the best in this time of need. Alex was a great man, funny and well loved. If you need anything at all Debbie PLEASE do contact me. My cell is the same.
With Love and my deepest symphonies,
Pam Jarett & boys
Alex was a great man who always left you with good feelings, he was a true gentleman... Our thoughts go out to those closest to him.
Dear Deb and family.. I am shocked to have heard the sad news. I just saw you and Alex three weeks ago. As someone "in the business" I loved hearing Alex comment to me when he was in dental school during summers, he worked for my dad at Buffalo Dental as a sales rep, and was always at the beach "by noon" and he had a convertible to boot! Wonderful man who was insightful, gifted, genuine and a true gentleman. We will miss him...
Alex and I first met when we entered UB as freshmen in 1953. Our friendship developed into one made in heaven. Our lives moved in different directions over the years due to careers and family but our friendship was unique. He has a tattoo on my heart. Alex was very special. Gods speed, my friend!
My deepest sympathy to Alex's family.Alex was in our U.B.fraternity with me. He was also a few years ahead of me at UB dental school. WE stayed good friends after Dental school. He was a great guy!!!!God bless Alex & his family !!!! Warm Regards. Dr. CHIC SMITH DELRAY BEACH, FL.
You are leaving us with such wonderful memories. We will remember all the Florida trips especially you riding the roller coaster with Christopher and getting bruised knees from it. My dear friend you will be missed more than you know.
Alex was a great friend at Lafayette, he never did tell me the secret how he grew from a 5 foot kid in high school to his great height.
I remember Alex from University of Buffalo when he was in Dental school and I was in Medical school. We had some good times together going to dental school parties!
How greatly saddened Lorry and I were this morning to hear about Alex. Truly, he was a guy who was "bigger than life". I guess that is because he always lived life to the fullest and thank the Lord, took a few of us along for the ride. What a great guy; what an event! Alex shall be greatly missed and certainly greatly remembered whenever we meet someone who is such a good friend to those around him. Blessings to you Alex.
