Joan was a lovely and loving lady. She was my mother in law Ritas niece and her God daughter. I met her later in her life but felt close to her because of Ritas love of her. When I saw this notice and her beautiful picture I smiled!

Your mother was a beautiful woman in more than the physical . She was so cheerful you liked her right away and felt she liked you too. I met her when I was working at Canisius College but knew she was a cousin of my mother in law Rita Eberl and she was Rita's god daughter too so I had heard what a lovely person she was before I met her and she proved that true. You lost her too soon and hope your wonderful memories sustain you now.

I am very sorry for the loss of your mother Joan. While I did not know her,I had the priviledge of having Mark as a student at North High School and then later as my eye doctor. The old line "the apple does not fall far from the tree" applies here. Joan had to be a terrific person because Mark was an extremely "good apple!"

To the entire family; We will miss your mom and the friendly banter! So sad to think we won't see her around town, giving us a hug and a smile. We will all miss her deeply, but please find solace knowing she is with your dad, and truly home in God's arms! Love, Janice, Mike, Christian and Grace Curatolo

I first met Joan when Ross and my Chris were in elementary school at Maple East. Over the years we crossed paths at birthday parties and Lou Gehrig baseball games but I think the place we bumped each other most was at T. J. Maxx! We would always laugh when we saw each other there, acknowledging that we both loved to shop for a bargain. Joan always asked about my family and was such a warm, gracious woman. I'm proud to have known her and will miss her friendship.
