Ruth Margaret ROWE

1922 - 2016

ROWE - Ruth Margaret (nee Schreiner) 1922-2016. Lifelong Buffalonian and only child of Charles and Dorothy (Dora Hilburger) Schreiner; loving wife of Dr. Albert G. Rowe (deceased); devoted mother of Sandra (Robin L., Esq.) Stone, Wendy (Charles) Klinginsmith and Susan (Dr. Robert) Calcagno; grandmother of Jennifer (Roger) Stone-Ferrini, Robin C. Stone, Nicholas (Sara) Calcagno, Terance Calcagno, Charles (Lindsay) Marzec and great-grandmother of four: Owen and Charlotte Marzec and Anthony and Evan Calcagno. Graduating from Mount St. Joseph Academy (1940), Ruth worked as a secretary during WWII and used her skill assisting her husband for many years. In her youth, she enjoyed speed skating at the former Humboldt Park (Martin Luther King Park) during Buffalo's winters and in later years actively pursued golf and tennis. Ruth passed peacefully Sunday evening (December 18) in Pittsford, NY with family by her side. Generous of spirit throughout her life, she has requested that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be directed to local parishes she has been involved with for many years: St. Amelia's Outreach Program or St. Mary's of Swormville Church or School. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Swormville (old church), 6919 Transit Rd., Swormville.
