Just found out today! I've had the flu. I am a neighbor with a dog from down the street. Your Mom and grandmother was a very sweet, kind lady who always had time to chat when I was out walking the dog and always had a treat ready for Brody. I will miss her and her cheery smile. With sincere sympathy.

I can't begin to describe the level of respect and gratitude that I have for my grandmother. Mama Sheila is the reason that our amazingly close family of 24 exists. I am so thankful for this irreplaceable gift. My family is full of kind-hearted people who are passionate about helping others - a trait that undoubtedly was imitated because of a superb example. With over 40 years of service as a nurse, I could not be more proud to be part of a family that stems from this kind of compassion.
I miss my Papa Fred terribly and these past few weeks have reminded me just how much I wish he was able to be here with me to celebrate life's events. Even though I have now also lost Mama Sheila, I am at peace knowing that they are finally together again. I can picture them laughing, making "spagooti and meatballs" and playing with their beloved dog Morgan.
It is hard to move on. You feel a sense of guilt for simply going about your daily actions. The best way to cope, in my opinion, is to find a way to carry on the memory of those that are lost and to live a life that they could be proud of. I choose to proudly be a follower in Sheila Fleming-Miller's footsteps - caring without judgement, loving without boundaries and praying without doubt. I love you Mama Sheila. May you forever be at peace and pain-free.
P.S. I am sorry I called you Mama Dumb Dumb when you made me take an unwanted nap.
Xoxo,
Colleen

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Judy, it's obvious that your mom was very special. She brought wonderful children into this world and raised them to have great morals, kindness, and generosity. The values that she and your dad instilled in you will keep her alive in all of your hearts for many generations. Your mom also taught you the art of true friendship, and I'm happy for that. I wish I could be there for you.
