Dad

Our first Heisler Family Reunion was held last weekend without you. You always wanted to be the first to arrive and the last to leave. There is not a day that goes by that we don't miss you, but the reunion was especially difficult. You were MISSED by all. Cousin David came in from Florida and was deeply saddened by your passing. We talked about all the good times, especially Aunt Carol's delicious brownies. We know she is filling up shoe boxes of brownies for you in heaven.
You are forever in our hearts today and always.

They say time heals- I don't know who ever said that but I don't agree. Sometimes time only make the memories hurt more because you know there will never be any new ones. Uncle Tom had a special way with me- when I was younger he always called me slim even though I never was. I remember the conversations about Dolly Parton and how he wished she would drop out of the sky into his backyard. As he got older I got to know him more during the times I visited and when we all got together to play poker I learned he wasn't as quiet as I thought- and he was actually quite funny at times. He always looked for his kiss and hug when I saw him- I miss those times. Much love Debbie

Sometime has passed since you have left us but I wanted to share some things that have meant a lot to us. First of all you are missed as a traveling and casino buddy. We always had fun whether we won or lost or where we went-we remember those times in our hearts and minds. You were and are very loved for the man you were. I remember when you and Marge were first married and you lived upstairs from ma- you were very shy- one day you came downstairs to ask ma if she would sew a button on your shirt and you had it hidden behind your back because you were afraid to ask. Ma loved you very much, she called you steppin fetches because you always did everything slow and deliberate- but you were always very good to her. You have left a lot of memories behind for us to remember and cherish. You are sadly missed, you left us way to soon. Much love, Chuck and Jackie
