LUCILLE BACKUS

LUCILLE (BRODEUR) BACKUS - BURLINGTON - Lucille (Brodeur) Backus, 77 years of age, passed away in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was born in Richmond on Aug. 27, 1936, daughter of Paul and Helen (Levesque) Brodeur. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church and the Confraternity of St. Joseph. Lucille attended schools in Richmond. Lucille is survived by her brothers and sisters, Paul and Pauline Brodeur, Maurice and Anita Brodeur, Rene and Dora Brodeur, Doris and Norman Daigle, Elaine Brodeur, Gerard Brodeur and his partner, Linda, and Michael and Nancy Brodeur; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Helen; sisters, Jeanne Herrick in 2002, Claire Sweet in 2005, and Pauline Parent in 2008; sisters-in-law, Candace Brodeur in 2005, and Francis Brodeur in 2004. We would especially like to thank the wonderful people at Birchwood Terrace who gave our sister, Lucille, TLC! Lucille will always be remembered for her unselfish love for her family and the people whose lives that she touched! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 11 a.m., with interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Annex, Pomeroy St., Burlington. Visiting hours will be private. Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors, Burlington.
