My daughter (Kristen Hageman Byford) used to volunteer at the VA and was one of 'Abie's girls' that he had lunch with. She was always talking about this amazing man and that he was. He spoke at my parents church in Bruin as well and was so well respected. You will be greatly missed Abie......a man of many talents! Deepest sympathy to Christine and the rest of his family.

Abie is my hero, along with my Uncle Carl. He was there be my uncle's side when he died in June of 1942 in Camp Cabanatuan. He contacted my family and we corresponded throughout the years. One of Dad's favorite memories is getting to meet Abie. He will never be forgotten. God Bless Him. Virginia Laska (Stockton, Kansas)

What an amazing human being. If we could all accomplish even half of what this man accomplished this nation would be better for it. This man was truly a hero. We should all aspire to follow in his footsteps.

Sincerely,
Proud American

It is hard to come up with the right words to say about what he has meant to our country. It was a great privilidge to have been able to thank him for his service to our country.
