Im saddened to hear of the passing away of both Ron and Allene Cross. Both of them treated me as family when I knew them back in the 60's when I dated Terry
November-19-13
I will always remember the fun times visiting the Crosses, they are remembered with much joy even though we haven't been in contact for many years. As neighbors you couldn't ask for better ones even when our dog got into the chicken pen! Fond and joyous memories of Allene and Ron and sincere condolences to the family.
November-12-13
We have just learned of our precious friend's passing and want to express our condolences to Allene's family. She was one to remember friends from Gleichen days and only ever had good things to say. We loved her wit and spirit and will cherish the visits we had with her and Ron. We will always think of them whenever we drive through the foothills or whenever we see needlepoint or collector plates (of which we treasure the two "Chief" plates she gifted us with in 2012). I will share something special she taught me and that our family pantry has benefitted in knowing... I was not raised on the prairie or in the foothills, so she took me under her wing and taught me what the Blackfoot taught her was the best way to pick bullberries! She absolutely loved bullberry jelly and the best time to pick those thorny gems is after the first frost that makes them sweet. "All you need is an old sheet (a clean shower curtain will do, too) and a BIG stick! Lay the sheet under the bush and bang the heck out of it and all the berries come falling down and you can go on home without a scratch to make your jelly!" :D Time is too short and there are not enough words to express what a delightful friend she was to me! Because we believe in Afterlife, we are happy she's with Ron and we imagine them journeying forward together, free from limits and pain of age, no longer burdened with cares of this life. How blessed they were to find and love each other so and how blessed we were to know them!

Our condolences to the Cross families. We were friends with both Allene and Ron and they both will be missed in the community. Allene was always such a little dynamite whether she was driving down the road (I think speed limits were only suggestions to her) or talking about family or of course her horse races. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy to you all. I remember when our Dad passed, it was a great comfort to be together and share memories. We laughed and cried. I hope your memories of both Uncle Ron and Aunt Allene sustain through these sad times. Love from us all.
