CARD, Dorothy Marion
May 31, 1930 - December 3, 2012
Dorothy Marion Card beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister of Calgary, passed quietly into the presence of our Lord on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the age of 82 years. She was an active member in the Peace Lutheran Church for over twenty-five years and was devoted to her saviour, Jesus Christ. She served on the Women's Missionary Fellowship and had many close friends. Dorothy was an avid traveller and visited many parts of the world. She was also a volunteer with the Interfaith Food Bank for over twenty years. She loved sports and cheering on the Calgary Flames, Stampeders, and Cannons. Dorothy's favourite times were spent celebrating special events with family and loved ones. She was especially proud of her family's accomplishments. She will be remembered for her love, positive attitude, strength, kindness and generosity. Dorothy is survived by her children, Sidney (Tina), Lorraine (Bruce), Darrell (Laurel) and Cheryl (Neil); grandchildren, Barry (Julie), Sarah (Bob) and Sidney; great-grandchildren Jason and Tyson; sisters, Rose Butler of Edmonton, Nina Kuntz of Regina, and Darlene (Al) Martin of Swift Current; brothers, Gerald McLean of Regina and Wilfred McLean of Regina. She was predeceased by her loving husband William; parents Aldene and John McLean; sisters Joyce and Diane; and brothers, Ronald, Ivan, Norman, Jack and Clare. We are blessed to have shared in Dorothy's life. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) today, December 7, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (14640 - 6 Street S.W.) on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
