Dear Colleen and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I lived at the back of one of his residences on Royal Avenue for 5 years, from 1994-1999, which was how I came to know him. I haven't seen Fred since then (I moved to the UK, and then to NYC), but I often think about what a sweet and kind man he was. For some reason, I was thinking about Fred today, even though it's been many years since I last saw him, and was very sad to hear of his passing. My memories of living on Royal Avenue are happy, and I loved seeing him drive up in his truck to work on making it a pleasant place to live. I also enjoyed greatly my conversations with him. He will be greatly missed, I know. My thoughts are with you, Isabel

So sorry to hear this news. I only learned about this today.
I really appreciated Fred being around as often as he was, it was nice having a landlord who was present and helpful. I've been here at this property since 2003.

Dear Mrs. Colleen, Aunt Ruby, Linda, Mark and Family, Many years ago I met you when you visited in Alabama and knew you were a loving and unique family. I know Mr. Fred will be missed greatly . He sounds like a wonderful man who had many talents and used them well. May the Lord bless each one of you as you adjust to life without him. I believe the Lord uses the death of our loved ones to divorce us from the things of this world and make us look forward to heaven and the next adventure in His presence.May you be comforted . I always enjoy chatting with Fred and Colleen when I visit my daughter, Wendy, and her family next door. I will miss seeing Fred outside with Charlie. I know that my family are very fond of you both and this is a big loss for them too. My heart goes out to you, Colleen. I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family and hope that all the wonderful memories you have of Fred will help you through this difficult time.

I wish I would of got to know him and got to see him before his death. The last time I saw him I was 13 years old. I remember I had a wonderful time! First time I got to ski and the only time I have ever skied since. I will never forget that trip. Time is soooo short, enjoy every moment!! My prayers with the family. God Bless

RISK IT - To laugh is to risk appearing the fool-To Weep is to risk appearing sentimental-To reach out to another is to risk involvement-To express feelings is to risk exposing your true self-To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd,is to risk their loss-To love is to risk not being loved in return-To o live is to risk dying-To hope is risk despair-To try is to risk failure-But risks must be taken;because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing-The person who risks nothing, does nothing has nothing, and is nothing-He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn,feel,change,grow,love,live-Only a person who risks is free-Fredrick Deen Childs Risked it ALL Thanks Dad for letting me live outside the box-See you on the otherside Linda Susan Childs-Davis
