I met him and David in my B and B in Barcelona and since the first moment I felt he was a good man. I feel honored for meeting him. Un fuerte abrazo allí donde estés Mike.

Mike was a treasure trove of surprises. I was fascinated by him in every conversation. His intelligence, his deep deep understanding of all things human, and his insatiable curiosity about life would literally jump out at me entirely unbidden. We are so very saddened. There is so much to say and yet so little needs to be said except that the world has had a great light go out, but only temporally. May that light now shine through all of us who knew Mike. Mike embodied goodness and belief in the good that we as people can do if we so truly desire to do so. Be at peace Mike. And to David and all the family our thoughts and prayers and blessings be with you all. Chris & Audrey Tesarski

Whatever faults and strange quirks dear Mike might have had the positives completely outweighed the negatives. He always sought the positive and was a kind and generous person in every sense.

Former Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark once said of Mike at a public meeting, after Mike posed a particularly insightful question - "You are one smart American." Impressed with Canada and Canadians in general, Mike over time became our biggest advocate and one of our best political observers, his knowledge honed during his frequent visits. We all lost a great friend in Mike and David a wonderful partner. Sharing the loss, Tom & Suzie Dixon
