Christopher MURPHY

I have been friends with Chris Murphy since 1973 when I first came to Calgary Police. He was a trusted friend and was the special significant other to my best friend (Karen Peterson). So over the years our paths crossed again and again and again as we went through the various milestones that life deals us. Chris could always be counted on for intelligent feedback on all problems (financial, personal, child related, relationships, etc.) and he was a constant force - someone who could be counted on for common sense and good advice. He also had a sense of humour and street smarts that always sets old policeman apart from others. I am proud to have been considered his friend and I will miss him. Marj Snaith (Poffenroth)

Dear Uncle Chris and Family,

So sorry we will not be able to come to the funeral tomorrow.

We will be thinking about you and praying for you all.

Uncle Chris, you have left us with so many great memories that we will cherish and never forget. These memories will forever put a smile on our faces.

We love you and we will miss you.

Lina and I were saddened to learn of Chris's passing as we were not aware he was sick. I had Chris playing for the Calgary City Police soccer team in the late 1960's and then caught up again with him when he came to join me at the Police Academy at Mt. Royal College. He and I and Hank Franklin were a great team and were given the job of teaching a new rating system to several hundred police supervisors. awe each had specific parts to deal with, but Chris was the driving force, and with his ability and forceful style carried the show. He was fun to work with and performed as only he could, making a daunting task that much more easy. He was a good friend and the police service was better because of him. To all his family, please accept our condolences. I don't think I will make it to the church on Saturday, but I will try. Sincerely, Ron Tarrant. Retired Superintendent.

Dianne & family, my thoughts are with you. I'll miss seeing & chatting with your dad at off leash. He was a lovely man.

We were very sad to read of Chris's passing. We are the owners of two of his puppies. Chris lived in our neighbourhood and we would often walk over with the dogs for a visit. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed.
