Dear Marilyn,

I never had the opportunity to thank you for the re-usable, green, grocery bag with white handles, that you sewed and gave to my mom, Grace Jesse, many years ago. You were truly "green" before it became popular.

Mom gave that bag to me and for 25 years I carried it to and from schools loaded with my lunches, snacks, extra pencils, and often assignments to grade. I have never owned another lunch bag, I'm semi-embarrassed to admit. I didn't need to - a weekly wash and my "Marilyn bag" was good to go.

I didn't know you well - only as one of the "big kids" who lived in the house across the street when I was a youngster. Today, however, I cherish a tiny bit of your amazing spirit and many talents, in the form of a much-loved lunch tote, created with a vision "ahead of your time" that will likely out-last us all!

Thank you Marilyn, you have left us a better place.

Our deepest condolences to your family.
