Mrs. Garigue, I had left the Bank when I learned of Robert's death and was unable to attend his service or to offer my condolences. I was shocked and very saddened. He and I had many passionate discussions, as I was the auditor at BMO for his entire group. We yelled at eachother, laughed and sometimes even had a tear. He was a remarkable man and I still think about him often. All the best. Dagmar Boettcher

Dear Carol: It's been a very long time since you and I and Robert and Bruce spent so many happy times together. I have just now read of Robert's death in January and I am in shock. My heart goes out to you and your daughters. We have not kept in touch over the years, but I always think fondly of you and the wonderful, kind and brilliant man that Robert always was during the time that I was honored to know him. I hope that these past months have found you able to find your way without him -- you two were such a wonderful couple. I am thinking of you. Warm regards, Patty

Dear Carol,
It is with great regret that I learn about Robert’s passing. He was an inspiration to many of us while serving our country and beyond. I will remember, always, how Robert could always instill the most difficult of concept in the most simplest of ways. Dr Garigue’s Information Peacekeeping concept is just brilliant. I owe much to Robert, from ideas to knowledge, not to mention my current post.
Please accept my deepest condolences

I just learned of Robert's passing this last week and I was saddened in so many ways. Robert addressed our staff at an internal knowledge exchange event hosted by our IT Executives. I was enthralled by his presentation on Information Systems and the ways he meshed a number of visions into a compelling idea.

I've kept his presentation material as personal reference and I go back to it frequently for inspiration.

Thank you Dr. Garigue for the brief but hugely meaningful spark you brought with you that day.

Your passing makes me all grasp my days before they're only memories and missed opportunites.

Bon Voyage.

Robert, I only just found out you have passed on.

I was writing to you to thank you for your confidence and wisdom regarding my work. It took me months to fully understand your wisdom, you told me "greatness is not defined by reference".

I wanted to let everyone know that Robert`s advice to me in the 1 hour I met him in Paris 2006 taught me the most valuable lesson I could have, to believe in myself.

I would like to express my deepest respect for this amazing man.

I had the extraordinary privilege and experience of Robert in some asborbing discussions and deep mentorship on a few of occasions. His direction to me, made significant impacts on me professionally personally. His kindness, openness to share his discoveries, personal generosity of spirit and immense wisdom will always be remembered and valued by the individuals he touched, and his imprint felt by the world for generations to come. Condolences to his family and colleagues in this time of loss and mourning.

A truly great man, who will be missed.

Sincerely,
February-21-07
We know Robert as a man of many talents and interests, a man that will be always an example of professionalism, kindness and a true leader.
We will miss you deeply Robert. We can not accept that all this happened. Our thoughts and prayers are with all your loved ones.
