Jana Michelle Butler, age 57, passed away August 9, 2018 at Skyridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. Jana was born on December 13, 1961 to Richard Weston and Jan Lee Parks in Baltimore City, Maryland. She was a long-time resident of Canon City. She began working at Developmental Opportunities and then worked at Starpoint for 28 years and was currently working as their Financial Director. Top of their list was their children and grandchildren. A bit of casino fun always made Jana smile. Jana loved reading, camping, playing board games or solitaire on her computer and was an avid Broncos fan. She LOVED her fur babies. She and Thunder loved their walks and playing fetch. She also loved cuddling with Lola, her precious kitty. In 2007, Jana became a heart and kidney transplant recipient at Stanford University Hospital in California. She felt very blessed and as she and her heart accepted each other, she became stronger and was able to enjoy 11 more years with her family. Jana is survived by her husband James Sams, her brother Alan Parks(Terry), her two sons Justin Butler (Augustina) and Casey Sams, her daughters Jennifer Garcia(Chico) and Lisa Holgerson and her grandchildren Payton, Marcus, Makenna, Lexia, Juliet, Jaci, Olivia and Keason.
