I love George. He IS the original and best country music, a music of my youth and a sound that always always comforts me. I wish I had had the opportunity to see him when he was younger. My father was a country western record producer in Nashville and Hollywood and knew George. He told me that George was so successful because of his style and voice that you knew immediatly who it was. I love "The Race is On" and "White Lightnin'' most of all. He will be missed. Rest in Peace, George--"Went to see him the other day...all dressed up to go away...first time I'd seem him smile in years".
