I once heard the quote; " You have touched me, I have grown!" That is true of my childhood friend Steve. We grew up together-I have such fond memories of youth group trips, M&M fights, the yellow VW bug, pretending we lived in the exclusive neighborhoods in Canton. Steve, and Eric, never forgot I was their friend, never excluded or denied me through those terrible awkward teen years. I treasure their memory and am saddened that their lives were so short. I am so grateful Janet for our visit the weekend Steve died-being surrounded by his love in you, and the beauty he created was very special for me. I hope you know that I carry you and Mr. Schaeffer in my heart and prayers.
With Love, Liz (Ayres Thoren)

My dear friend Stevan was a wonderful person, and I cherish all of my memories of him and with him.
I am shocked to see he has passed at such an early age. We met in our first year of college and took a couple classes together; Stevan enjoyed the Western Cult classes as much as anyone I have known. He was fascinated by the art and architecture portions the most. Stevan had a keen eye for art that struck his fancy, and was excellent at space usage design. He was a natural talent at such things.
Later in our time as friends, Stevan and I moved to Florida together, and shared an apartment for two and a half years. Those were fun and exciting times for us both, and I cherish all the memories that we built. Stevan always had a project to devote time to, sometimes a Halloween costume would inspire him to exercise his creative side, and often he put energy into cooking, I will never forget his version of chicken pot pie (Thanks Janet for teaching him to cook)!! Sadly, time and other relationships separated us for the better part of the last 20 years, but I have never stopped remembering and thinking of Stevan and having dreams where Stevan is a participant, he was such a big part of my life for so long, how could it be otherwise! We shared fun times, secrets, some heart ache, and generally entertained each other through out the years. Stevan was my best friend for a long time and I will miss him for the rest of my days. I always wanted more for you Stevan, and you deserved it! Rest In Peace Good and Faithful Servant. May flights of Angels carry you on. With Love, Your Pal, George Mulder - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Where do I begin to to express my deepest sympathy. As far as I can recall as a child Eric and Steve were a huge part of my life. It makes me so sad to know they have both went on to be with our Lord so soon. The one thing that should be a comfort is that they are together again. I have so many great memories of playing together as kids. I am so sad that I cannot attend Steve's service due to unavoidable circumstances. Please know my prayers are with you both Janet and Bob. And I pray for God to give you and the whole family strength to get through this terrible loss. Please take care! Susie Swigart
