So sorry to hear of Judy's passing. My sisters & I will never forget her umpiring our Manchester Softball games in the mid 70's. She was a very special ump who became our friend. We'll never forget her. My sincere sympathies to your family.

Kelly &Family,

My condolences on your mother Judy passing. She was a tough cookie and frankly her toughness was good for young girls to see. May the memories of her lessons on life bring you comfort during this difficult time.

Frank and Family. I had no idea that Judy was ill and am sorry to hear of her passing. She and I made "history" back in 1976 as the first (and probably only) all-female crew to umpire OHSAA baseball. I learned so much from her -- as did the players and coaches she umpired for years. She and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Frank & Family, I sSINCERLY offer condolences and prayers that although she and I never met, Frank and I were partners on the POLICE DEPARTMENT AND he and got Abigail laugh when a former MARINE gave Frank a Zelig Neil and raised his arm in a NAZZI salute because of Frank's mustache. I'll never forget that!
Sorry flour losses to all the family.

Frank, Kelli Anne and Robbie. That was the best obituary I ever read. So honest and heartfelt. Judy was something special and so talented. Sewing, woodworking..really anything she set her mind to. I spent many hours with you when you were small so she could umpire, playing and holding you on my lap while we watched TV in the yellow chair :) I'm so glad we got to see her before she passed away so she knew we loved her. You've all held a special place in my heart. You're in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Frank, Kelly. and Robbie, Sam and I are saddened by your loss. We have been neighbors for a long time, and we know Judy could do anything she set her mind to do. She made me curtains, and she made the wishing well in our back yard, a lady of many talents, and she will be missed by many. Now she is resting in heaven and looking down on you. You will be in our thoughts.

Love Sam and Mary

Rob and Family,
I was so heartbroken to hear of Judy's passing. She was a wonderful woman with an amazing spirit. I remember very well the days down at the park when she played on my Mom's team, and the numerous times she umped at games I played in.
We were all a tight knit group then, and it was a shame when we all lost touch...Rob, I haven't seen you since high school. I will always be grateful for knowing Judy. She may have come off as hard to some people, but she was an honest woman, and that's what I liked best about her. My thoughts and prayers are with you

Robbie -- Condolences to you, your sister, and your dad. Mr. Nelsen was your baseball coach, and you really worked hard. You improved so much, and your mom and dad would come to the games. They never interfered or gave advice; they just enjoyed and watched you, proud. I remember Judy's photography, her umpiring, and her no nonsense approach to life. Very, very good remembrance, Robbie. Your mom is surely proud.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am that Judy is not with us anymore. I knew she was not leaving her home much, but I never knew about her illness. The last time we talked, she said she would like to bowl again, but too many old injuries. I shared her feelings as only another bowler could. Women of our generation fought hard to be able to play sports, it was so important to us because there were not too many chances to play organized sports as we grew up. We were some of the lucky ones. Judy umped some of my childrens games and played on teams with me in the Ladies League in the park. She was outspoken, rigid about the rules, but just as easy to help someone learn the game. When she smiled, her face lit up. You just had to coax it out of her. As these years go by, more and more of our players will pass, so it's important to remember those days in the park, sun shining, and someone yelling, "Play ball." It was usually Judy. My heartfelt condolences to her family. She was one of a kind.
