Two years today my darling brother. I think of you with laughter, i think of you as part of me and mostly I grieve for your presence.
On the anniversary of your death, I light a candle in your memory knowing that your light will help to guide me beyond this world. You have always been a guide for me and I will always feel your spirit! Love ya
Today is your birthday and it would be your 65. Our plans would have been set, we would be drinking a beer, the four siblings together again for a milestone birthday. Miss you my darling brother.
I met Charlie in 1977 in Evergreen. He let me stay with him for a while. What a nice man. I was a wild kid, A runaway actually. I found myself in Co. amongst some crazies. Charlie was a protective, nice guy. What is not mentioned on his obituary is the fact that he did design work for Steely Dan's album. The Royal Scam. Very impressive. I remember him as being a kind, gentle person. We had a lot of fun. He will be missed.
What is Heaven?
Charlie would have replied with something profound and meaningful with a soft touch of humor, something you could have Faith in...
Heaven for me is to see my Big Brother again.
Love Ya, Buddy
For more than three decades your friendship added joy and value to my life, I will miss the light that you shined on my path. You were one of a kind. Thanks for your friendship
Hot Tub Charlie, we'll miss you!
Just happened to pull up the Canyon Courier this morning and saw this sad news. "Ve grow too soon too olt and too late too schmalt". An old Amish saying that I mentioned to Charlie one day which made him always call me Brother Lapp. What a great guy. Goodbye Brother Ganse.
when you have the oppertunity to see a friend do not miss it.Glad that I saw you With a few years ago With Barb I was in hopes for another visit. Prayers are with you and to your familey. Scott
Well Char you were my daughters Godfather and late husbands very dear friend. After John Died we did not stay in touch .I am glad I came over with Scott a few years back to see ya god speed and say Hi to John for me. Barb
Dear Char, May the light and warmth that you so readily provided to your fellow travelers be there for you now and brilliantly light your way. Love, Moey
Another piece of my heart is gone. You took it with you on 9/27. So much time has passed since we met in September of 1966, but the good times were so many and the memories are wonderful. I remember studying all night for finals with you, drinking coffee and eating some pretty horrible spaghetti. And, you saved me when you offered to help me move to Evergreen from Lancaster in 1978. You've stood by me through so many changes. You are such a good and loyal friend. I will love you forever.
Mooge, Cathy and Buddy, I am so saddened to hear of Charlie's passing and am sending my deepest condolences to you and your dear families. I will always remember how Charlie loved the subtle beauty of nature, his beloved hummingbirds, skiing, ice skating at the lake, fresh pancakes with "maple surple", driving in his TR, being with his friends at his favorite places in Evergreen, watching the Broncos, and pretty much everything about Christmas time. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time together with you and his little nieces and nephews. I treasure the times we were able to share in the Outer Banks and in PA and was honored to have had Charlie in my life. I know wherever he is, he's happy and at peace- and watching over us with a beer and a good German pretzel in hand.
Wow, just got the word. Auf wiedersehen, mein freund. Met Charlie at Millersville, 1967, when he almost ran me over with his TR3 (both late for class), became close friends. Hitchhiked around Europe. Traveled the US. Visited all the old sites in Morehead City w/ his grandfather. Too, too many stories to tell!! I'll have a beer and take some more bird photos for you, brother!! Love you and all your family!!
Hot Tub Charlie, such a sweet man, my boys still remember him playing with them when we first moved to Evergreen 20+ years ago and he fixed our first tub. Years later, when I would run into him he would always take the time to ask how the boys were. Going to be missed by so many in the community.
Time goes by so quick and I ran into Charlie not to long ago and we brought up the old Rib Crib days. We shared some good memories during that conversation! You wil be missed Charlie!!
What a beautiful legacy! Describes him perfectly......he will be sorely missed by all whose paths he crossed!
Hot Tub Charlie - a most popular and loved personality in Evergreen, will be missed by all. I was deeply saddened to hear of his unexpected passing. My prayers are with his family and his multitude of friends. Evergreen will not ever be the same without Charlie's smile and stories. He knew something about almost everything and was an engaging conversationalist. Hot Tub Charlie delighted in life, always seeing the humor in its twists and turns, the beauty of nature and the mysteries of the cosmos.
Just didn't soak up enough of Charlie. We miss him.
I was "only" a customer but Charlie taught me everything I know about hot tubs...and more.
He was always willing to share information and provide advice. I always got the impression that he genuinely cared and wasn't just giving a sales pitch.
I'm not sure I can go anyplace else for my hot tub supplies or advice.
You were the best. Your humor and thoughtfulness will be remembered with fondness.
Evergreen won"t be the same without our Charlie in it. I'll miss you very much.
Charlie, what a great cousin to have. You will be greatly missed. I will always remember the hummingbirds that flocked to your fingertips, and your feeders. A very gentle soul you are, May You Rest in Peace. Jack and Judy
It is so inspiring to see all the kind things people had to say about my Uncle Charlie. I will forever love my Uncle Charlie and I know hes in Heaven looking down upon all of us. I now truly understand why my Mother chose Charles as my middle name and its because Charlie was one the greatest Uncles, Role Models and human beings to grow up with. Ill always be thinking of you Uncle Charlie and especially on Broncos Sunday.
Burger and a beer Wednesday lunch at The Wood Cellar just won't be the same with out you Charlie. Your sweet heart and genuine kindness always brightened my day. Miss you already.
Charlie, you were always in fine humor and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Your kind soul will be missed. I hear that you won't have to wax your TR3 in heaven.

Dear friend, old neighbor, great human being...your presence will be greatly missed in the "hood". Sending you light & Love on your next journey.
"Hot Tub Charlie" was always there for me when I needed advice, supplies or repairs for the two hot tubs I purchased from him. Moreover, his pleasant manor, and genuine interest in others, whether it was about hot tubs, vintage sport cars or just everyday conversation, made my visits to the shop a stop I always enjoyed. I will sorely miss him!
My friend of 35+ yrs. I will miss those fri. nights talking, always with a beer & playing poker knowing you
kept that Ace of spades under your seat. Save some good cards for me.

Charlie was a gentle soul who I never saw angry at anyone or anything in the 10+ years I knew him. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. The world is a little less beautiful with his loss.
