Andy taught fencing at St. John's College when I was a student there 1954-58. He gave me my first epee lessons. A good man.

Thank you Coach Deladrier for making us great competitors.

He was the single biggest influence on me of all the instructors at school. I learned perseverance and dedication forged in the many hours spent in the fencing loft at McDonough Hall. Thank you, Coach Andy, for the strong positive influences you gave many a future Naval and Marine Corps. I am blessed to count myself in that rank. God rest his soul and thank God for his full life.

I was very sorry to learn of Coach Deladrier's passing. But he is going on and the good that he did here remains.

I am a product of "Coach" Deladrier's large and lasting footprints on this earth. He afforded me the opportunity to join a varsity college athletic team having no experience in fencing at all. Beyond the skill of fencing, he taught me the value of patience, perseverance, and self-confidence. Like many I am very grateful to have been under his tutelage as a Midshipman '77. May he rest peacefully after a job well done!

Rip,
Sorry to learn of your dad's passing. May your memories comfort you in this sad time. We miss being your neighbors on the "farm" in Annapolis.

Thank you Coach D, fencing is a great sport you taught us and the fencing team a wonderful family you created for us.

My deepest sympathies. So sorry to hear of the loss of "Coach" Deladrier. Coach was a great teacher, coach, mentor and friend. I enjoyed learning how to teach fencing while at USNA. God Bless Andy and may you walk with the Angels.

Rest in peace my friend. You have surely earned it. Reading Longfellow's Psalm of Life reminds me so very much of you. Especially the footprints you have left that have helped so many, not the least of whom was me.

Rest in peace, coach. Those hours spent in the fencing loft of Usna were a safe haven for me. So many great memories of being a part of that team, and great memories of Coach D.
